OUR GARDENS
My mom loves her gardens. She has a lot of gardens in our backyard. This year I thought I would try to learn a little bit more about gardening and composting. In our backyard, we have fig trees, apple trees and plum trees. We have raised gardens that grow blueberries, rhubarb, lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, herbs, potatoes, onions and spinach.
Although I love to see what the garden produces, I don't often eat it. I have tried blueberries, apples, strawberries and raspberries.
What I have learned about composting is that it is kind of like "taking out the trash" except with fruits and veggies. My mom has three big composts. When we take the scraps out we throw them on the pile and cover with a bit of dirt and eventually it turns back into good soil again for our gardens. The ultimate in recycling!

Plums
Potatoes and onions
That is a beautiful garden Vaughn, I\m glad you are learning more about how these foods grow AND trying some of them too. Home grown food is very healthy!
